Former Falcon to appear on ABC’s The Bachelorette
Carrier Mills native and 2009 Southeastern Illinois College graduate Nathaniel Mitchell will appear as a contestant on the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette.”
While at SIC, Mitchell was recognized as a member of the Dean’s List and graduated with both an Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degree. He was also a member of the men’s basketball team from 2007-2009. During his sophomore season, he averaged 3.8 points and 4.5 rebounds for the 24-win Falcons. Additionally, Mitchell served as a tutor on campus in the student success center.
After graduating, Mitchell transferred to Southern Illinois University-Carbondale to play for Coach Chris Lowery’s Salukis. There, he completed his degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and his Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering.
“Nate,” now 33, will now be a contestant in the upcoming nineteenth season of ABC’s The Bachelorette. Instead of competing on the hardwood, he will now compete for roses from former Bachelor contestants Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia, who will be the series’ first dual Bachelorettes.
