Associate Dean Speaks to Rotary
Lori Cox of Eldorado, Associate Dean of Workforce & Community Education at Southeastern Illinois College, spoke to the Eldorado Rotary Club Dec. 13 about some of the many projects going on in her departments.
Among a variety of topics, the club learned about high school student opportunities through the college, such as Spotlight Days where students get hands-on experience about programs of interest, as well as the CEO program for high school students in Saline County. She praised the small group of young CEOs for raising more than $4,500 net profit at the recent Gala they put on in only a month’s time.
Cox also talked about the how the Workforce and Illinois Small Business Development Center helped 14 business start-ups and expansions, created and retained 180 jobs, and worked with 140 clients, adding $3.4 million in loans for the region this year.
