SIC New Student Orientations – July 29 and Aug. 5
Southeastern Illinois College has scheduled two New Student Orientation sessions for the fall semester. First-time degree and certificate students are strongly encouraged to attend one of the orientation sessions and will be awarded free credit for EDUC 122 for attending.
The orientations will cover information on enrollment, financial aid, TRiO student support, txtSIC, student email, and online classes. Students attending will also receive a tour of campus and have a chance to get an SIC ID card. Students who have not already done so can also register for classes during orientation. The sessions are additionally a chance to meet other new students, faculty and staff.
Orientation sessions are July 29, 1-3:30 p.m. and Aug. 5, 6-8:30 p.m. on the Harrisburg campus at 3575 College Rd.
Registration is going on now and classes begin Aug. 18. Summer office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. through Aug. 7. Regular office hours resume the following week: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
SIC offers a variety of scheduling options to fit student needs. Students can save gas and choose their times with online classes, which can be taken from anywhere at any time. SIC offers some degree programs completely online or in a hybrid format with some classes online and others on-campus. Evening classes may be a better fit for students with day-time commitments that prefer a classroom setting.
