Ladies: Come and Join the Fun in the Outdoors — Earlybird Deadline is April 13
Do you love the outdoors but can’t find the time to enjoy it? Are you tired of your typical Saturday…errands, laundry, kids, cleaning, chores…the same old rut? Have we got the perfect escape for you!
Here’s your chance to rekindle old outdoor interests or learn new ones. You don’t have to be in tip-top shape or handy with an axe…this is simply your chance to spread your wings and try something new in a beautiful outdoor environment. Make plans now to attend the 2013 IL State Women in the Outdoors event the weekend of May 3-5th at Camp Ondessonk in Ozark, IL. The event is being co-hosted by the Illinois State Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and Southeastern Illinois College.
Through this event, women will be given the chance to experience the thrill of outdoor activities such as canoeing/kayaking, horsemanship/trail ride, basic handgun, dutch oven cooking, climbing tower, vegetable gardening, photography, hike to beautiful sites within Shawnee National Forest, and more. It will also allow women to develop a greater understanding of wildlife conservation and meet others who share their enthusiasm.
The events are held across the country with experts on hand to teach in a noncompetitive manner. The combination of sponsorship and local chapter support allows the NWTF to offer these programs at a low cost to participants. The cost for the entire weekend’s activities is $170.00. Pay an early bird fee of only $160.00 if you register by April 13, 2013. The registration fee includes your choice of (4) classes, lodging for (2) nights, (4) meals, equipment use and supplies, a membership in the Women in the Outdoors program and a subscription to Turkey Country magazine, the Federation’s full-color, quarterly publication with articles and information on a variety of outdoor adventure and activities. The final registration deadline to attend this event is April 29, 2013 so call and reserve your spot today. Pre-registration is required to attend the event.
“Our program is about encouraging women to try new outdoor activities in a safe environment that makes them feel at ease,” said Brenda Valentine, National Spokesperson for the NWTF. “This event is also an opportunity for women of all walks of life – singles, moms, daughters, young and old – to spend a weekend outdoors, away from home, having fun and making new friends.”
