Whether you are college-bound or looking for a new career, we can help you get started! SIC in cooperation with Rend Lake College is offering FREE online GED (General Education Development) test preparation classes conducted via Zoom!
Classes are designed to help you prepare for the GED test modules in English, Math, Social Studies and Science.
These free Zoom classes are held Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to Noon or 6-9 p.m.
Reading and Math only classes are: Tuesday & Thursday 1-3 p.m.
If you are located in the SIC district, you will receive a box of helpful study materials when you register for a class. If you need a computer, one can be provided on loan from SIC. Also available as needed are internet hot spots and data cards to be used for the classes.

GED Practice Tests - Try free sample tests in all GED subjects.
The GED test is divided into four sections: English, Math, Social Studies and Science. You can take them one at a time or all at once – whatever your preference. Test dates are generally available every few weeks, giving you time to study until you feel ready. We highly recommend the free classes to help you prepare!
Location: GED testing is held in room A-144a on SIC’s Harrisburg campus: 3575 College Rd.
Cost: The testing fee is $30 per module ($120 total). Fees may be paid online by debit, credit card or voucher purchased from the Regional Office of Education. Testing fees do not include the cost of the Illinois High School Equivalence Certificate ($10)/ Official Transcript ($3).
Note: Testers under 18 must send a withdrawal letter from the last high school attended to ICCB (Illinois Community College Board) via email at GEDtestingIL@iccb.org or fax to 217-558-6700.
