ASSET/COMPASS Test

The Testing Center administers the ASSET/COMPASS test, one of which is the placement test required of all new students prior to registration. Placement testing is free. The test takes approximately two hours; covers the basic skills of reading, writing, and math; and is scored immediately. The scores are used for placement into the appropriate levels of coursework in English, reading and math. Students may take the ASSET/COMPASS tests at a remote site if access to the Testing Center is inconvenient or a hardship and have the scores sent to our Admissions Specialist. Students who have a composite score of 20 or above on the ACT are exempt from this testing.  Call 252-5400 ext. 2442 to schedule an appointment or stop by Room A-153.  Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are allowed when space and time are available.

 

Health Occupations Aptitude Examination (HOAE)

The Health Occupations Aptitude Examination (HOAE) is for students interested in Occupational Therapy Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technology, Surgical Technology, and Veterinary Technology. This exam has a fee of $25.00 payable to SIC (by check or money order) and should be made in the Business Office or Financial Aid Office.  In order to take the exam, the examinee must bring a receipt showing payment has been made for the exam and a photo ID (state driver's license, SIC student ID, or state ID),  Exams will be given in Room A-153.  Click here for a list of testing dates.

 

TEAS Nursing Entrance Exam

TEAS Nursing Entrance Exams are $45.00 per exam. Examinee's should pay the $45.00 testing fee in the Business Office. Examinee must bring a receipt showing payment has been made for the test and a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or SIC student ID).  All exams will be in Room A-153 located in the Student Success Center.  Contact Ed Rose (ext. 2442) or Amy Spivey (ext. 2383) in advance to schedule a date and time to test.  Click here for the TEAS exam schedule.
 
 

CNA (Certified Nurses Aide) Testing

All CNA test are schedule to be given in Room A-153 unless otherwise notified.  Examinee must bring a photo ID (state driver's license, state ID, or SIC student ID).  Click here for the CNA test exam schedule.

 

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

There is a fee of $77 (check or money order) payable to CLEP per test and a fee of $20 (check or money order) payable to SIC per test.  Examinee must bring a photo ID (state driver's license, state ID, or SIC student ID).  Contact Ed Rose at 252-5400 ext. 2442 to schedule an appointment.

 

Work Keys (Para Professional Exam for Teacher Aides)

This exam requires $50.00 payable to SIC (check or money order) and payment can be made in the Business Office.  Examinee must bring a receipt showing payment has been made for the exam and a photo ID (state driver's license, state ID, or SIC student ID).  Call 252-5400 ext. 2442 to schedule an appointment to take the exam.

 

Make-Up Testing

Students can take make-up tests and quizzes in the Student Success Center at the request of instructors.  Students who need to make up a test should schedule an appointment with Amy Spivey.  Appointments can be made in person in the Student Success Center in room A 145, by calling 252-5400 ext. 2383, or by email at amy.spivey@sic.edu.  Please note: all exams must be scheduled in advance.

Instructors: Instructors wishing to request make-up testing for students should download the Testing Form and email or print.  Testing Forms should be sent to Amy Spivey.
