Southeastern Illinois College is proud to feature six competitive teams which represent the college in local, state, regional, national, and international competition. Four are academic teams and two are athletic in nature.
The Archery Team competes against community colleges and universities, in event s sponsored by United States Collegiate Archery. USCA events are held at the state and nationals level.
The Bowling Team competes in varsity level in the US Bowling Congress with men's and women's teams of eight bowlers.
The Forensic Falcons compete against community colleges and universities, at a state and national level, in public speaking, oral interpretation, and readers theater.
Students from Southeastern Illinois College join over 300 students from 19 colleges across the state to participate in the Model Illinois Government.
Phi Beta Lambda competes against community colleges and universities, at a state and national level, in business oriented exams, community service projects, and entrepreneurship.
Phi Theta Kappa, founded in 1918 as the national honorary scholastic fraternity for community colleges, is the community college equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa. Mu Psi, the Southeastern Chapter, came into being in 1962. Academic excellence is the primary hallmark of PTK and membership is extended by invitation only based on factors including academic standing, moral character, and qualities of citizenship.
