  • President Katie Clayton called the meeting to order at 12:34p.m. Those present were as follows: Matt Lees, Kelly Whitler, Katie Clayton, Shawna Browning, Eric Jackson, Cassie Rea, and Courtney Bunting.


  • The minutes from the September 5, 2012 meeting were approved as amended. President Clayton entertained a motion to approve the minutes. The motion was moved by Vice President Shawna Browning and seconded by Treasurer Cassie Rea.


  • Executive Reports

-Vice-President’s Report- The t-shirts for Student Government were made and each executive board member now has a shirt.

-Trustee’s Report- The next meeting is on October 8th.

-Treasurer’s Report- Nothing to report.

 -Secretary’s Report- Nothing to report.

  • Faculty Meeting Reports


-Curriculum Committee- Has not met since the last meeting.

- Assessment Committee- Has not met.

-Campus Environment Committee- Has not met.

-Strategic Planning Committee- Has not met.

-Scholarship Taskforce Committee- Has not met since the last meeting.

-Parking and Safety Committee- Has not met since the last meeting.


  • Old Business-

ATM Project- Banterra Bank chose the cafeteria location for the ATM and a proposal was sent to the Administrative Cabinet. Advisor Kellye Whitler reported that the ATM fees would be the standard fee for most other ATMs.


AHA Heart Walk- A table will be set up on September 14th to sell hearts outside the cafeteria.


Build Day at Gaskins City Playground Complex- Build day is September 22from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. President Clayton told the group of her involvement as Chair of the Environmental Committee and invited all those interested in joining the group to talk with her. The committee has set a goal to recycle all left over materials from the Build Day event. In addition to that, the group will be finding creative ways to involve young children during Build Day.

Voter Registration- SIC voter registration day was set for October 3rd. President Clayton will call the county clerks to coordinate the event with White, Pope, Hardin, Gallatin, and Saline Counties. 


  • New Business-

Student Government T-shirts- Vice President Shawna Browning made the t-shirts and will be reimbursed with Student Government funds.


  • Student Concerns-

Student Government Cookout- The cookout will be October 19th at Advisor Kellye Whitler’s house.


Vice President Browning suggested numbering the computer monitors in the library with their corresponding computer below. Advisor Matt Lees stated that he would have a conversation with Gary Jones in the library to resolve the problem.


  • President Katie Clayton entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was moved by Vice President Shawna Browning and seconded by Secretary Eric Jackson. The meeting was adjourned at 1:09p.m.
