• New Business-

-Introductions were made by coadvisors, the Executive Board, as well as the newly elected and appointed senators. Everyone seemed optimistic about the great year ahead for Student Government!

-Advisor Lees went over exactly what being a part of the SIC Student Government team means. He told of the renovations in the Student Center in years previous, as well as the new projects for this year, such as the patio renovation. Lees stated that we are able to accomplish these things by going through the process of approval by the Student Government board first. Both advisors welcomed new ideas for this year.

-After some debate, it was decided that the Student Government Cook Out will be October 19th at the Harrisburg Park’s main park complex, off of Capitol Street. We will also be having a scavenger hunt.

- Advisor Lees went through the binder tab by tab, explaining dates of events and different committees. Attendance to meetings and events is vital.

-Finance Committee: Treasurer Rea, Senator Russell, and Senator Patton.

-The Falcon Flyer- Secretary Eric Jackson is the chair of this committee. This year’s editor will be Betsy Dick. Treasurer Rea and Senator Goodwin agreed to join this committee as well. Allie Austin showed interest in being involved in helping with the Falcon Flyer. Advisor Lees stated that she would be allowed to join, due to the fact that you do not necessarily have to be a member of Student Government to write for the Flyer.

-Student Life Committee: Wednesdays at 12:30 in the VPAC lobby. Trustee Bunting, Senator Adams, and Senator Hankins agreed to serve.

•Old Business:

-ATM- Banterra Bank wanted to be able to put advertising throughout campus; however the board declined to have advertising anywhere other than the spot where the ATM will be placed. This should be completed by January.

-AHA Heart Walk- We were within a mere $200 of beating John A. Logan College this year. Altogether, we, as a college, raised over $7,000.00

-Voter Registration Day- This Wednesday, from 9:00-2:00 outside of the Student Center. Executive Board members have previously signed up for this event, and Kellye has their times of when they will work.
