America's News---America's News from NewsBank provides full-text articles from the electronic editions for more than 1,500 national news sources - all in one easy-to-search database. The database includes full-text of the Carmi Times (9/24/99-current), Harrisburg Daily Register (10/26/96-current), Southern Illinoisan (2/1/2002-current), and the Evansville Courier and Press (6/19/91-current).
Black Thought and Culture contains 1,297 sources with 1,098 authors, covering the non-fiction published works of leading African Americans. Particular care has been taken to index this material so that it can be searched more thoroughly than ever before. Where possible the complete published non-fiction works are included, as well as interviews, journal articles, speeches, essays, pamplets, letters and other fugitive material.

Academic Search Complete is the world's most valuable and comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 8,500 full-text periodicals, including more than 7,300 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 12,500 journals and a total of more than 13,200 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format. Searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,400 journals.

Harper's Weekly---this general interest periodical published from 1857-1912, is a primary source for learning about nineteenth-century events, people, and culture. The HarpWeek Database consists of the pages of Harper's Weekly, scanned as images, together with a series of interactive indexes. It contains many images by Winslow Homer, Thomas Nast, and Mathew Brady. Literature in the database is searchable by title, author and literary genre. In addition, over 30,000 advertisements, categorized by topic and advertiser, are included. Harper's Weekly provides detailed information and insights on major and minor political, military, and social issues and events prior to and during the Civil War as well as The Reconstruction and Gilded Age.

I-SHARE (ILLINET)---Online catalog currently containing records for over 8.9 million unique titles and over 31.5 million pieces. This is a resource sharing initiative amongst 65 Illinois colleges and universities.
Illinois Digital Sanborn Maps database provides digital access to 2553 large-scale maps of 549 Illinois towns and cities. The maps were created to assist fire insurance companies as they assessed the risk associated with insuring a particular property. The maps list street blocks and building numbers.
JSTOR Arts & Sciences I---The JSTOR Arts & Sciences I Collection includes full-text articles from the complete back issues of 119 journal titles in fifteen disciplines. The collection of online full-text material includes many of the core research and society published journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences.

Oxford English Dictionary---A guide to the history, meaning and pronunciation of words. The OED Online contains the complete text of the 20-volume Second Edition, c1989, together with its three-volume Additions Series.
Saskia Digital Image Archive---A collection contains 30,000 digital images of paintings, sculpture and architecture, including images from many important collections: the Prado, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Uffizi, and the Louvre as well as archaeological sites in Greece, Italy, Turkey and Egypt. The images can be displayed and downloaded in high-resolution format.
