Faction of Gamers
SIC’s competitive varsity esports team, the Falcons Faction of Gamers (FoG), has been part of the college’s competitive team line-up since Fall 2021. As members of the FoG, students will have the opportunity to hone their gaming skills while getting a top-rated education in the major or field of their choice. Partial tuition scholarships are available to qualifying team members. In-district and out-of-district students with the skills, interest, and dedication to compete in collegiate-level esports are encouraged to try out for team membership.
MINIMAL TEAM REQUIREMENTS
- Must enroll as a full-time SIC student
- Must maintain a 2.5 GPA in SIC coursework
- Must be able and willing to devote time to on-campus practices and competitions
- Must be a team player
- Must demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship
As a member of both the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), team members will compete against varsity teams from a variety of colleges and universities across the United States and Canada in titles such as Call of Duty, Halo, Fortnite, Valorant, Chess, and others.
Team members have daily access to the campus esports arena, which is equipped with top-of-the-line gaming PCs, and the team room where they can practice, study, or just take a break and relax.
