Organizations or Committees:

Currently serve as a member of the NCOE School Board; and am a standing member of the Enfield Mule Day Association; formerly served as a member of the Carmi Kiwanis Club, and as a board member and past President of the Carmi Chamber of Commerce, I also served a term as a Trustee for the Village of Enfield.  I serve on several committees at SIC.

What other positions have you held prior to SIC?

I was the Marketing Director for White County Hospital in Carmi for approximately six years, and as Marketing Director for The Heart Group based in Evansville, IN for three years (1996-1999).

What other positions have you held at SIC?

I served as Associate Dean for the White County Center for approximately 9 years, and as Interim Dean for Career & Technical Education for a year before being named as CTE Dean.

What is your favorite memory at SIC?

I have so many, so it is hard to choose just one.  Probably some of my most memorable moments are when I served as emcee for the Employee Recognition Luncheons.

What does SIC mean to you?

Family.  I have had some wonderful mentors over the years, and have gained lifelong friendships while working at SIC.

What do you do in your spare time?

Spend time with family and friends.  My husband, Scot, and I will be celebrating 24 years of marriage later this year, and we have two children, Caleb, who is 21 and currently attending University of Illinois, and Caite, who will be 16 later this month and is a sophomore at NCOE High School.  Caite is active in school and plays a couple of sports, so we spend a lot of time on the road going to sporting events and going to visit Caleb.

Where’s your favorite vacation spot?

Kentucky Lake

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

It would have to be with my brother, Terry.  He passed away in 1998 from cancer, and there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him.  I would love to spend time with him and just catch him up on everything that has happened in our family the last 17 years.  He was such a big part of our family and our lives, and I know that if he were alive today he would be so proud of our accomplishments.

How would you spend $1 million?

If I had $1 million dollars to spend, a majority of it would be used to help fund children’s charities.  There are so many worthy causes to help children of all age groups.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever heard?

“The true test of a man’s character is what he does when no one is watching.”  John Wooden

To me, this is a profound statement and advice that I take to heart every day.
