What positions have you held prior to SIC?
Prior to SIC I was a graduate assistant at SIU-C, and before going back to school, I was a secretary for an optometrist.

What does SIC mean to you?
SIC has been my home away from home for 28 years.  It has been so rewarding working with so many hardworking students, fellow faculty members, administration, and staff.  Teaching is my passion, so SIC has allowed me to follow my dreams and love my job.

What's your favorite memory at SIC?
My favorite memory is working with my Phi Beta Lambda students on various projects.  One of my favorite community service projects was doing the Angel Tree each Christmas.  It was so heartwarming to see the generosity of all of our students and SIC staff.  Delivering van loads of gifts to the children was very rewarding for me and my students.

What do you do in your spare time?
Spend time with my family and friends.  I love to cook and entertain.  I also enjoy gardening and yard work.  I find it very therapeutic.  When I am in school, I love researching new technologies.

Where’s your favorite vacation spot?
Hilton Head, South Carolina

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
I would love to have dinner with Mother Teresa and hear stories about her life and causes.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever heard, or the best piece you can give to others?
Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value. -Albert Einstein
