Virgil Motsinger
Virgil Motsinger started his 35-year career as Southeastern’s men’s basketball coach and Athletic Director in 1962. He won 605 games and lost 383 through his retirement in 1997. He was inducted into the Illinois Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1989 and was called into the NJCAA Hall of Fame in 2000. He ranks among the top 25 most-winning coaches of the NJCAA. Additionally, he was inducted into the McKendree College Hall of Fame (his alma mater), received recognition of distinguished merit by the Illinois NJCAA, and was selected as Educator of the Year for both Southeastern and Illinois. |
