Social Science, Business and Education

The Division of Social Science & Business provides instruction in Business, Economics, Education, Geography, Government, History, Psychology, and Sociology. Instruction for select courses is delivered in various modalities: online, telecourse, and traditional classroom. Faculty members in the division teach in smart classrooms equipped with instructional technology that can enrich the instruction delivered and also addresses different student learning styles. The division provides curricula leading to the degree of Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and several pre-professional areas.

Students enrolled in the different content areas may also benefit from educational experiences beyond the classroom. For example, students in government are provided an opportunity to participate in the Model Illinois Government experience when enrolling in GOVT 260 during the spring semester. This experience allows students to participate in a simulation and competition at the state legislature in Springfield, Illinois.
