ACCUPLACER STUDENT GUIDE

 CNA Placement Test:

The Testing Center administers the Accuplacer Next Generation test, which is the placement test required of all new students prior to registration. Placement testing is free. The test will cover the basic skills of reading and is scored immediately. The score is used for placement into the CNA program and a score of 236 or better is required.  If this score is below 236 it will be necessary to take a remedial Reading/English class passed with a "C" or better before registering for the class. Students may take the placement tests at a remote site if access to the Testing Center is inconvenient or a hardship and have the scores sent to our Admissions Specialist. Students who have an ACT composite score of 20 or above, or an SAT composite score of 1020 or above are exempt from this testing.  Call 252-5400 ext. 2442 to schedule an appointment or stop by Room A-144.  Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are allowed when space and time are available.
