Online Student Orientation
Do you need help learning how to navigate your online class?
For online and hybrid classes beginning January 11, 2016, there will be orientation sessions available to introduce you to each of our two different online learning platforms:
- eLearning in MySIC
We are beginning a transition from our longstanding online learning program, ANGEL, to the eLearning platform that is housed inside My.SIC. If you are taking multiple online classes, it is possible that you will need to access both of these programs, but ONLY for the Spring 2016 semester.
If you have no past experience with taking an online classes, it is highly recommended that you attend one of the following 1 hour sessions.
Monday, January 11
- 6:00pm - 7:00 pm in room B224 (this session will focus on ANGEL)
Tuesday, January 12
- 11:00am - 12:00 pm in Room B224 (this session will focus on ANGEL)
- 2:00pm - 3:00 pm in Room B224 (this session will focus on ANGEL)
- 5:00pm - 6:00 pm in Room B224 (this session will focus on My.SIC/eLearning)
Wednesday, January 13
- 10:00am - 11:00am in Room B224 (this session will focus on My.SIC/eLearning)
- 3:00pm - 4:00pm in Room B224 (this session will focus on ANGEL)
You will also have access to the online student orientation (OSO) courses in ANGEL and My.SIC approximately one week before classes begin. This will help you learn to navigate your online classes regardless of which platform they use. Make sure you check it out!
You will be able to access your credit-bearing course(s) on January 11.
To log into ANGEL:
From the SIC homepage (www.sic.edu) and click on "Online Class" link at the top of the page OR go to https://angel.sic.edu
(We suggest that you bookmark this page so it's easy to find.)
Your Username is your SIC ID number
Your initial Password will be the last 4 digits of your SSN
The first time you log in, you will be required to change your password. For simplicity, we recommend using the same password for online classes that you use for your MySIC and Falcon Mail accounts. Just make sure it is something you can remember!
To log into your class in My.SIC and access your eLearning course:
- From the SIC homepage (www.sic.edu) and click on "my SIC" link at the top of the page.
- Key your Student ID Number in the MySIC User Name. Key in 1234 in Password. This is to get you to the Invalid Password screen. Click Login.
Click I forgot my password link. Click Send New Password to have a temporary MySIC password emailed to your Falcon Mail email account. Be sure to refresh your Falcon Mail browser session to receive the new email. If you do not see this link or receive an error, submit a support request using the link at the bottom of page.
Copy and Paste this temporary password from Falcon Mail into the MySIC password. Once logged in to MySIC, we recommend changing your password to same as Falcon Mail using the Personal Info link next to your name.
