Emergency Medical Technician - Basic

EMT 115 (7 credit hours) - Provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for the emergency sick and injured patients, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, bleeding, shock, injuries to the skull, brain, neck and spine will be stressed. Auto extrication will be taught in order for proper emergency care of highway accidents. Upon completion of this course, each student will have the opportunity to take the State Certification Examination in order to become a licensed EMT/B. Prerequisite: Current Health Care Provider CPR Certification.
