WYSE Academic Challenge

The Math and Science Division is host to the regional competition of the World-wide Youth in Science and Engineering Academic Challenge.  Teams from all area high schools compete in written exams in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering graphics, English, mathematics, and physics.  Awards are presented in two divisions for individual and team performance.

The Math and Science Division and the Southeastern Illinois College Foundation are proud to sponsor scholarships in conjunction with the WYSE Academic Challenge.  A scholarship is awarded in each division to the top overall competitor who plans to attend Southeastern and major in a scientific field of study.

We would like to congratulate the WYSE competitors.  Each of you should be proud of your selection to your school's team.  We would especially like to congratulate those who won individual and team medals in the competitions.  We hope you will choose to continue your education at Southeastern upon graduation from high school. We look forward to working with you during the first two years of your college education.  We would like to add you to our growing list of successful math and science alumni.
